We offer training in Anaesthesia and its allied specialties such as Critical Care and Pain Management and Fellowships in Difficult Airway training, Pain Management and Obstetric Anaesthesia.

Training is of the highest calibre and we have a comprehensive training program which includes a half day release course in addition to the National Pre Exam Courses Based in the Leicester Hospitals.
|

Our Rotations involve many hospitals which encompass many training opportunities. Hospitals included are University Hospitals of Leicester, Kettering, Northampton, Peterborough, Boston, Derby and Lincoln.

| 3 | Our Hospitals
The East Midlands Workforce Deanery School Of Anaesthesia [South] has both University and DGH level hospitals contributing to the rotations.
During the 7 years training program [8 if training via ACCS] a trainee can expect to rotate through several different hospitals. Thereby gaining a wide experience of training in Leicester and elsewhere
Modular experience can be obtained at various locations throughout the school enabling training in all of the subspecialty areas within anaesthesia.

| 4 | ACCS training in Leicester and Northampton
The Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) is a programme designed to acquire competencies in 4 key acute specialties:Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Trainees who undergo this programme will benefit from highly specialised training which will prepare them adequately for a career in their chosen future specialty. In addition, trainees considering a future career which will include Critical Care sessions will be able to fulfil the mandatory complementary specialty requirement of the Intercollegiate Board of Intensive care Medicine (ICBTM).
